Damaged oil tanker off the Baltic Sea island of Rügen

Berlin – The oil tanker that wrecked in the Baltic Sea has been towed off the island of Rügen. The accident command announced that the Eventin, which was unable to maneuver, was about three nautical miles off Sassnitz. She was brought from her original position north of Rügen to her current position with several tugboats on Sunday night. Two emergency tugs held the ship safely in place. The weather has improved and the wind is expected to continue to ease throughout the day. The situation is stable. A federal multi-purpose ship is also on site to provide security.
