Valdir do Nascimento, in Tremembé (SP), sent a message to settlers for having regularized the occupied lots that still had pending issues.
The message was sent to a group of settlers last month. In the text, Valdirzão, as he was known, stated that the community no longer had settlers in conditions of irregular occupation of the lots.
“Yesterday, on the second day of many Incra regularizations [Instituto Nacional de Colonização e Reforma Agrária]all the families that the MST placed on the lots were approved”, he wrote.
Next, he thanks everyone who “believed that only organized struggle” brings achievements. It also mentions families who have never “given up believing that the MST never leaves those who fight behind”, and gives special thanks to Incra’s regional superintendent in São Paulo, Sabrina Diniz, “who personally came from São Paulo to resolve this pending issue has been dragging on since 2007”.
The landless man also thanked the minister (Agrarian Development) and President Lula, “who signed the decree that makes regularizations possible.” “Families from the Conquista and Comuna Manoel Neto Settlements were also regularized,” he wrote.
The Lula government (PT).
