Musician, producer, conductor and composer Oskar Rózsa made his mark in Slovak history thanks to the new wording of the Slovak national anthem. It had its premiere in the first minutes of 2025. Since the information that Oskar Rózsa is working on editing the anthem became public, many negative and critical comments poured into his address. The conductor and husband of the singer Zdenka Predna could not hold back more than once and his statements stirred up discussions about him even more.
In November, the information about the fee that Rózs should receive for editing became public, but the Slovaks did not like it. “I’m not doing that anthem for you. You still haven’t understood that it is not your anthem. That’s an anthem for a whole different group of people. And believe that there are significantly, several times more than you. No matter how loud you scream. Your time is running short. So, I’m begging you, crawl into your holes and give us some peace at last,” he said at the time. He later apologized for his words.
Rózsa communicates with his fans on the Telegram platform, where he has now revealed something about his early music career. “By the way, did you know that I am the author of the music soundtrack “Studio VPN” from ’89, for STV? Not that I particularly want to brag about the authorship, but it’s probably better to confess publicly, without violence, just to be sure. I had 16 years and it wasn’t for, or for, money,” he wrote surprising words.
“I hope the degressives don’t appropriate her like poor Karel Kryl…please, rather spit on her. VPN – Public against violence-citizen platform of gentle revolution 1989, in case any of the poor followers of cancel culture, or sweet “not memorizing” happen to know“, he explained.
