Gyros is a traditional dish of Greek cuisine. In the original version, it is specially seasoned meat, roasted on a spit. Gyros spices include sweet peppers, mustard, coriander, marjoram, rosemary and chili. Poles love the taste of this mixture of herbs and willingly use it for various dishes.
The spice is perfect for toast. Gyros casseroles are an interesting idea for a quick and nutritious dinner or a party snack. The footnote uses a hand-made mixture of gyros spices, which you can hide and use later. This will significantly speed up the preparation of dishes in the future. The bread will include well-seasoned chicken, zucchini and a large dose of grated cheese.
Ingredients:
Casseroles:
- 150 g of toast bread,
- 20 g of butter,
- 100 g zucchini,
- 150 g sera cheddar,
- 150 g chicken,
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil.
Spice mixture:
- 3 tablespoons of sweet pepper,
- 1.5 teaspoons of granulated garlic,
- 1.5 teaspoons of coriander,
- 1.5 teaspoons of chili,
- a teaspoon of rosemary,
- a teaspoon of marjoram,
- a teaspoon of thyme,
- 1/2 teaspoon of white mustard,
- 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric.
How to do it:
In a bowl, combine all the spices until you obtain a uniform mixture. The recipe will only need about 1/4 of this mixture. You can seal the rest in a tight ziplock bag and leave it for later. Add olive oil to the spices and mix everything until you obtain a uniform marinade.
Wash the meat and dry it with a paper towel. Chop them very finely, into pieces the size of peas or even a little smaller. Put the meat in the marinade and mix well. Set aside in the fridge for at least an hour. Fry the chicken in a dry frying pan until golden. Set aside and cool.
Wash the zucchini and grate it on a medium grater. Grate the cheese as well. Spread the butter evenly on the slices of toast. Sprinkle the toast with zucchini and spread the chicken pieces evenly. Whole sprinkle with grated cheese.
Place the slices on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Bake them for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and the cheese melts. Serve the gyros casseroles warm while they are still crispy.
