Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent a team to Qatar with the aim of discussing a ceasefire in Gaza. This initiative comes at a time when the Israeli Army has already approved a plan to withdraw its troops from the region, according to local press. Negotiations are focused on the release of hostages in Hamas custody, with mediation from the United States and other countries.

The Israeli delegation, which includes Mossad and Shin Bet leaders, was formed after a meeting between Netanyahu and US special envoy Steve Witkoff. The talks, which involve the participation of mediators such as Egypt and Qatar, face challenges but are exploring the possibility of a gradual ceasefire, starting with the partial release of hostages.

Since the start of the conflict on October 7, 2023, the number of deaths in Israel has exceeded 1,200, while in Gaza the fatalities have already reached more than 45,800, according to data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health. The humanitarian situation in the region is critical, and international pressure for a peace agreement is intensifying.

In addition to negotiations in Gaza, Israel is also considering the withdrawal of its forces from southern Lebanon, in a deal that involves Hezbollah. The condition for this withdrawal is linked to compliance with the terms of the ceasefire, with the United States guaranteeing that the total withdrawal of Israeli troops occurs within a period of up to 60 days.
