Operation seizes half a ton of cocaine that was found on a boat moored at a marina in Guarujá

Dise (Narcotics Investigations Department) of Santo André (SP) identified a maritime route used by traffickers to transport drugs to the State of São Paulo. During an operation on Tuesday (7 January 2025), the team found half a ton of cocaine in a boat moored at a marina in Guarujá.

According to investigators, the drug, coming from Paraguay, was transported on boats to cities on the coast of São Paulo and, later, taken in cars to the metropolitan region of São Paulo, where the drug was prepared for sale.

In June last year, during an operation against drug trafficking, police managed to identify one of the routes used by criminals to transport cocaine from the coast to a city in the ABC region of São Paulo. At the time, 110 bricks of cocaine were seized.

During the investigations, the agents discovered that the traffickers would make a new “delivery” of drugs in Guarujá, using a maritime route and docking the vessel in a marina.

With the information, the police positioned themselves at strategic points. They observed the moment when a boat approached a boat and began to transship the drugs. The police, in a boat, carried out the approach, but those involved fled in the boat when they realized the presence of the agents.
