As expected, there will be a runoff election for the mayor’s seat in the Upper Austrian capital Linz in two weeks: the Social Democratic mayoral candidate Dietmar Prammer received 40.2 percent of the vote in the first round. Michael Raml from the FPÖ, who achieved 20.2 percent, will be in the race with him. Martin Hajart from the ÖVP got 18.3 percent and narrowly missed the runoff. Eva Schobesberger from the Greens was significantly behind with 13.0 percent.
