The president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, called the authorities responsible for fighting the fires in California incompetent.
“Fires are still raging in Los Angeles. Incompetent politicians have no idea how to erase them. Thousands of magnificent homes are gone, and many more will soon be lost. There is death everywhere. This is one of the worst catastrophes in the history of our country. They just can’t put out the fires. What’s wrong with them?” said the Republican in a post on the social network Truth Social.
The publication was made amid requests from California authorities for Trump to visit Los Angeles County and assess the damage caused by the fire.

“As you prepare for , I invite you to come to California again – to meet with Americans affected by these fires, see the devastation firsthand, and join me and others in thanking the heroic firefighters and first responders who are putting their lives at risk,” Newsom wrote in the letter, which was shared on his X account.
On Saturday, Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Kathryn Barger invited Trump to visit the region and see firsthand the damage caused by several catastrophic wildfires since January 7.
