A total of 15 million dollars has been announced by the Walt Disney Company to support the efforts to deal with the consequences and to rebuild while they left behind 11 dead and destroyed suburbs of Los Angeles.
Paramount has already donated $1 million to organizations contributing to the emergency response, including the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, the American Red Cross, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, World Central Kitchen and the Preservation Society Pets – Best Friends Animal Society.
Meanwhile, talent agency CAA Foundation has created the SoCal Fire Fund to provide support to those affected. The Fund was administered by the Entertainment Industry Foundation, a non-profit organization of the entertainment industry based in Los Angeles.
“As this tragedy continues to unfold, The Walt Disney Company is committed to supporting our community and our employees as we all work together to recover and rebuild from this incredible disaster,” CEO Bob Iger said, according to Variety . “Walt Disney came to Los Angeles with little more than his limitless imagination and chose to make his home here, pursue his dreams and create an extraordinary narrative that means so much to so many people around the world. We are proud to provide assistance to this resilient and vibrant community in this time of need,” he said.
“We will support vital organizations that provide essential services,” Disney said in a statement. “Furthermore, we are working around the clock to ensure the safety and well-being of our employees, many of whom have been affected by the fires, and we plan to provide further resources to the Employee Assistance Fund to help those experiencing hardship as a result of this crisis » is noted.
