The lawyer of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), Fabio Wajngarten, said that he will comply with the demand of Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), and will present the official invitation for the inauguration of the elected president of the United States, Donald Trump.
Bolsonaro asked the Supreme Court to release his passport to travel to the United States. The document was seized in February last year after Bolsonaro was the target of a Federal Police (PF) operation investigating an alleged coup attempt.
“I can guarantee that President Jair Bolsonaro was invited to the most select ceremony, with those closest to President Donald Trump,” said Wajngarten on the social network X (formerly Twitter). “The invitation is extended to a companion who will naturally be the First Lady. President Bolsonaro’s defense will provide and comply with Minister Alexandre’s demands, adding all the relevant documentation to the case file.”
Last Saturday, the 11th, Moraes ordered the former chief executive to show the “official invitation” he received for Donald Trump’s inauguration. Moraes pointed out that Bolsonaro presented, as an invitation he received from Trump, an email sent to deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) from an unidentified address. According to Wajngarten, “the entire construction of foreign relations is the absolute merit” of the former president’s son.
