This exam is essential for evaluating students’ learning at the end of basic education and stands out as one of the main ways of accessing higher education in Brazil. Among the relevant data, the increase in the number of registrants stands out, which rose from 3.9 million in the previous year to 4.3 million in 2024. Furthermore, the abstention rate showed a slight reduction, going from 32% to 30%.
In addition to being a criterion for admission to Brazilian universities, Enem results are also accepted in some educational institutions in Portugal, expanding opportunities for students who wish to study outside the country.
