The Elderly Card, a document that gives access to benefits for those aged 60 or over, can be issued free of charge by the federal government. To be entitled to the document, the person must prove your age, be registered with the e cprove income of up to two minimum wages.

Among the benefits of the Elderly Card are:

  • Discounts on cultural events, such as the right to half-price at shows, theaters and cinemas;
  • Priority in event queues and preferential service in establishments;
  • Free public transport, upon presentation of the document on buses, subways and trains;
  • Two free tickets per trip on interstate buses or a 50% discount on tickets;
  • Tax exemption in some cities, such as IPTU and other tax benefits;

How to apply for the Elderly Card

The document request process can be done entirely online, accessing the federal government portal. The only requirements are personal documents and proof of registration with CadÚnico. Read the step by step:
