The California State Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said people who have homes in neighborhoods that are still under evacuation orders should stay away from those areas and follow the guidance, even if the fire has been brought under control in the area.
“We have downed power lines that are potentially energized, the status of the gas lines is unknown, and the ash from what burned is toxic, so it is not a safe place,” said California Fire Battalion Chief David Acuña. to Kate Bolduan, from CNNthis Monday (13).
Acuña added that with the National Weather Service warnings about “extremely critical” conditions that could occur, “no one should let their guard down.”
“The entire region needs to be prepared to leave. We need everyone from Ventura to San Diego to understand that vacate orders are still a possibility,” he said.
