Agreement provides for brand print on sleeves and shorts and awaits approval from the Deliberative Council
is in advanced negotiations with Shopee to sponsor the sleeves of the men’s and women’s team uniforms, in addition to the professional basketball shorts. The formalization of the agreement depends on the approval of the club’s Deliberative Council, with a decisive meeting scheduled for next Tuesday (14 January 2025), at 6:30 pm, at the headquarters of Gávea, Rio de Janeiro. The information was released by Lance.
Although the financial details of the contract remain confidential, it is estimated that the value is in the range of R$10 million or above, a mark reached by the club in previous agreements for the same sponsorship space.
The club has stood out in attracting sponsors, renewing contracts with brands such as ABC da Construção, inDrive and Texaco, which together contributed R$20 million in revenue. The potential collaboration with Shopee not only reinforces this trend, but also promises to open new paths for Flamengo in the digital and international markets, given Shopee’s expansion in Latin America.
In recent years, Flamengo has implemented an aggressive policy of fundraising via sponsorships, leading the national ranking with more than R$200 million raised in 2023. The partnership with Shopee has the potential to boost the club to surpass the R$ target $220 million annually in sponsorship revenue.
In addition to the financial benefits, the partnership with Shopee could open doors for Flamengo in the Asian market, where the company has a strong presence.
