Palmeiras says goodbye to the Crefisa Era and presents Sportingbet as a new sponsor

This Monday (13) he presented Sportingbet as a new sponsor. The contract with the bookmaker was signed in the last days of 2024, between Christmas and New Year, and provides for around R$100 million, in addition to a series of goals that, if achieved, will yield an additional R$70. millions to the São Paulo club.

The new sponsor was presented at a pomp event at the Mirante do Allianz Parque, with hundreds of guests, including many businesspeople, managers and advisors allied with Leila, such as former president Maurício Galiotte, predecessor of the current president.

The CEO of Sportingbet, the Portuguese Antônio Forjaz, the company’s marketing director, Dimitri Araújo, and president Leila Pereira took the stage to speak, who, after a decade, no longer has her companies on the Palmeiras shirt. Leila and Forjaz treated the new partnership as the beginning of a new era, with the thought that the agreement will be beneficial to both of them. “It’s a great source of pride to have giant partners,” said Leila.

All 197 cups won during this period were shown – including youth and women’s tournaments as well – and a video to praise the club’s members with Crefisa and FAM, the longest-serving in the association’s history.

“These ten years have been fantastic. We wrote a brilliant story”, summarized Leila after telling the well-known story of how and why she decided to make a proposal to sponsor her husband’s favorite club in January 2015, when the president was Paulo Nobre, with whom the businesswoman did not has more of a relationship. “My brands say see you later today, but Palmeiras will live forever in my life”, she added.

The contract with Sportingbet is for three years, with the possibility of being extended for another year, and also includes sponsorship of the women’s team. Esportes da Sorte was the one who appeared in the women’s uniform, but the contract with the betting site was terminated

As there is no longer exclusivity in the sponsorship contract, contrary to what happened for a decade with Crefisa and FAM, the board’s idea is to sell the other available properties for significant amounts to reach R$ 200 million per year with sponsorship or even surpass these figures, also considering the contract with Puma to supply sports equipment.

Sportingbet will appear for the first time on the Palmeiras shirt on the 15th, next Wednesday (15th), the date of the team’s debut in Paulistão against Portuguesa, at Allianz Parque. Palmeiras is the only club sponsored by the bookmaker, which, however, has other commercial agreements in football: it is a partner of Conmebol and displays its brand in Libertadores, Sul-Americana and Recopa, in addition to sponsoring football on Globo.

The partnership with Sportingbet makes Palmeiras surrender to betting and becomes one of the 39 of the 40 clubs in Series A and B sponsored by a betting site. It also makes the club close to Corinthians among the most valuable sponsorships in Brazil.
