SÃO PAULO (Reuters) – The Piracanjuba Group received financing of almost half a billion reais from the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) for the construction of two factories in a dairy industrial complex in São Jorge d’Oeste, Paraná, reported the development bank this Monday.
The industrial unit will have the capacity to process 1.2 million liters of milk per day, according to BNDES, which will result in the production of protein concentrates and isolates (whey protein), lactose powder, mozzarella cheese and butter. In total, the project has an investment of 612 million reais, according to the bank.
“In two attached production lines, using whey, an effluent from cheese production, the company will produce up to 6 thousand tons per year of whey protein and up to 14.8 thousand tons per year of lactose powder,” stated the bank .
