An agent from the Metropolitan Civil Guard (GCM) of Diadema killed a young man on Rodovia dos Imigrantes, in Greater São Paulo, last Saturday (11), when the victim was being robbed.
The victim is Carlos Eduardo Nascimento, known as Cadu, aged 21, sixth period Advertising student. Cadu was social media and shared tourist tours on social media.
Called “adventurous boy” by his family, he succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene. The boy’s body was laid to rest at the Barueri Municipal Velório, also in Greater SP.

Cadu was a Corinthians fan and “so young and full of life”, according to friends. In an interview with CNNfriends close to the young man questioned the agent’s action: “A clear shot, in the chest of the innocent, the one who had two jobs, the one who fought to gain his material goods”.

The case occurred last Saturday (11), at km 18 of Rodovia dos Imigrantes, in the Diadema region, in Greater São Paulo.
An off-duty municipal civil guard, whose identity was not revealed, was traveling along the highway when he witnessed the criminals trying to steal a motorcycle, according to the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat (SSP-SP).
Upon noticing the action, he reacted and fired a firearm. During the confrontation, Carlos Eduardo, who was the victim of the attempted robbery, was hit and succumbed to his injuries. He died at the scene.
The two criminals, aged 24 and 30, were also hit and taken to Diadema Municipal Hospital. One of them was discharged and charged with attempted theft and vehicle seizure. The other man remains hospitalized under police escort.
The motorcycle used by the robbers had previously been stolen and was returned to the owner.
The weapons used in the action were seized and the case was registered at the 3rd DP of Diadema. According to the SSP-SP, investigations are still underway to investigate all the circumstances.
In a note to CNNa GCM de Diadema said that it “expresses its most sincere condolences to the family and friends of the victim, in this moment of immense pain”.
The corporation also said that it is fully cooperating with the responsible authorities and that it aims to investigate the facts, in addition to having already started an internal investigation with the Internal Affairs Department to analyze the circumstances of what happened.
“A The Corporation will spare no effort to provide due support to the victim’s family and to ensure that the appropriate measures are taken fairly and quickly”, states the GCM.
