Slovenia has called on the new Styrian state government to be “prudent” in its plan to constitutionally protect the state anthem and reaffirmed its “territorial integrity and sovereignty”. The plan neglects the historical context in which the Dachstein song was created, the Slovenian Foreign Ministry criticized in the daily newspaper “Dnevnik” (online edition). In the song, parts of today’s Slovenian territory are described as Styrian.
