Szijjártó warns against attacks on the Turkish Stream: Every intervention threatens sovereignty

The Turkish Stream gas pipeline is essential for supplying Hungary and Central Europe with natural gasHungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó wrote on Facebook on Monday. He was responding to reports from the Russian Ministry of Defense that the Ukrainian armed forces used drones to attack infrastructure important for the operation of Turkish Stream. The correspondent of TASR in Budapest informs about it.

“We expect everyone to respect the safety and functionality of this roadway,” underlined Szijjártó and added that this one the gas pipeline bypassing Ukraine has been working reliably for yearsboth transit companies and transit countries respect their contractual obligations and behave reliably.

The head of Hungarian diplomacy stated that security of energy supply is a matter of sovereigntytherefore every step which threatens the security of energy suppliesmust be evaluated as an attack on sovereignty.
