From this Monday onwards, temperatures will drop in Portugal, especially the minimum temperatures, being -2 degrees Celsius, in some interior regions. However, the steepest drops will occur on the coast.
Here comes a week of very coldwith minimum temperatures dropping from 0, in some regions in the interior of the country.
“We will have a gradual decrease in temperature values, mainly the minimum and this decrease will last until Wednesday, the 15th. Depending a little on the location for today, descent will be between 4 to 8 degrees Celsius“, meteorologist Patrícia Gomes told the Lusa agency.
“They go down a little further towards the coast because the interior regions have become lower in recent days”, he added.
According to the meteorologist at the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), light or clear skies are expected for this Monday, a drop in temperatures, the formation of frost essentially inland and generally weak wind, blowing more intensely in the highlands.
“For today, minimum temperatures of -2 degrees Celsius to Bragança and Guardain Vila Real 2 degrees, Viana do Castelo 6, Porto and Lisbon 9 and Faro 8″, he indicated.
For Tuesday, according to Patrícia Gomes, a further drop in the minimum is expected, with values being lower in the interior regions. They are planned for Bragança and Guarda -4 degreesVila Real -1, Lisbon and Viana do Castelo 4 and Évora 2 degrees”, he said.
Regarding temperatures maximumsthe meteorologist said that today they will fluctuate in the regions of coastline between 14 and 18 degrees and in the interior between 7 and 11.
“On Tuesday, the highs will vary on the coast between 12 and 15 degrees and in the interior it doesn’t exceed 10 degrees””, he said.
From Wednesday onwards, a variation in temperatures is expected, with highs in some places and drops in others.
“No rain is forecast. Everything indicates that at least until the end of the week we will have partly cloudy or clear skies, generally weak wind, frost especially in the interior regions and a stabilization of temperatures from Wednesday onwards”, he said.
