Iron stimulates the production of red blood cells, so eating the plant regularly prevents anemia. In turn, potassium lowers blood pressure, reducing the risk of heart disease.

All nutrients contribute to the numerous health-promoting properties of romaine lettuce. Who should eat it? Regular consumption is recommended for anemia and everyone suffering from cardiovascular diseases. The plant not only prevents anemia, but also lowers blood pressure and proves helpful in blood clotting disorders. Antioxidants also minimize the risk of atherosclerosis.

Romaine lettuce should be included in the diet of pregnant women. It contains folates, a natural form of folic acid, which is necessary for the proper development of the fetus. Folates and antioxidants they also reduce the risk of cancer.

It is also worth using the plant preventively in case of eye diseases. Beta-carotene and vitamin C have a protective effect on the eyesight. They prevent the occurrence of macular degeneration or cataracts. Lettuce helps too soothe inflammation and keep your bones healthy and strong.
