Botafogo and Portuguesa-RJ face each other this Tuesday (14/01), at 7:30 pm (Brasília time), at the Nilton Santos Stadium, in the second round of the Campeonato Carioca. The expectation is that around 10 thousand fans will be present at the stadium.
Botafogo’s debut, with an alternative team, was not the best. The team was defeated 2-1 at the weekend by Maricá, a debutant team in the state competition. Meanwhile, Portuguesa beat Bangu 1-0 in the championship debut.

Botafogo starts the year with a team short of reserves. The main squad has not yet returned, and the club is still looking for a coach.
In the first rounds of the state championship, the club will use athletes from the base or those returning from loan. Better-known names, such as striker Matheus Nacimento and midfielder Patrick de Paula, gain opportunities in the team.
Against Portuguesa, a new addition could be Yarlen, who started well in the debut game and now has a chance of starting.
