The death of Patrícia Soares da Silva, who was murdered by her ex-husband in Campina Grande do Sul, in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba (RMC), . The woman was stabbed to death and it was the author himself who indicated, through audio, the location of where the body would be. A year after the crime, the suspect was never arrested and remains at large.
Patrícia’s daughter told the RICtv team that she still hasn’t been able to assimilate her mother’s brutal death and that she can’t live in peace.
“Since it happened, we haven’t been able to assimilate what it was like. It’s very difficult for you to tell someone, ‘my mother was murdered’. Only I saw her, the way I saw her, I know […] I’m very scared, I don’t even live in the house that belonged to my mother anymore. I don’t have peace, I don’t have peace”, said the young woman.
Patrícia and Paulo César were married for five years, but were separated in January 2024. Despite the breakup, the two lived in the same house in Itapoá, on the coast of Santa Catarina. At the time of the crime, the two had gone to RMC to resolve a property sale situation. However, there was a fight and Paulo Cesar stabbed his ex-partner.
Shortly after killing the woman and abandoning the body, the man sent an audio to a cousin. “Say, I made the biggest mess of my life, man. He gave free rein, man, I killed Patrícia. We had a big fight, God forbid, I didn’t know what to do, I got some messages on her cell phone, she with her boyfriend, saying that they were going to be together, that after they split up, they were going to be together. We got into a big fight and I ended up stabbing her. I don’t know what to do, I’ve already ruined my life, hers, a lot of people’s. I’m going to go down there, I’m going to kill *** too and turn myself in. There’s nothing to do”, declared Paulo César in audio.
Since the date of the crime, Paulo César has never been found again. Police issued an arrest warrant on January 16, 2024, but the suspect remains at large. The Paraná Civil Police (PCPR) revealed that one of the man’s whereabouts could be Paraguay.
“Recently we had information that it could be in Foz do Iguaçu. Contact was made with the police, however, he was not found in Foz. What we believe is that he may have gone to Paraguay”, commented delegate Gustavo Pinho.
A year after her mother’s death, the young woman remains afraid. “My biggest revolt is that now, my mother will be one year old, and he is free”, concluded the daughter.
The PCPR asks that any information about the suspect’s whereabouts be passed on to the authorities.
