Few people like Ventura (especially women, older people and the “richer”)

Chega’s president, André Ventura

Ventura is the least popular of the opposition leaders and faces strong rejection in these groups, according to a new survey. Chega loses strength in a right that grows, but does not obtain an absolute majority.

The president of Chega, Andre Venturais the least popular politician in January’s Pythagorean survey for Jornal de Notícias, TSF and TVI/CNN.

Chega’s leader records 69% negative reviewswith particular rejection by women (negative balance of 50 points), older people (negative balance of 52 points) and people with higher income (negative balance of 57 points).

Chega’s leader only finds consistent support among… Chega voters, where he reaches a positive balance of 50 points.

Pedro Nuno with a negative balance

Pedro Nuno Santosin turn, is not that far behind. It accumulates 59% negative reviews and only 31% positive ones, resulting in a negative balance of 28 points. Even among socialist voters, support is timid, with a positive balance of just 14 points.

The PS leader is particularly criticized by men (negative balance of 34 points), individuals between 35 and 54 years old (negative balance of 37 points) and the middle class (negative balance of 40 points).

Montenegro, the most popular

The Prime Minister Luís Montenegro stands out as the most popular politician, with 53% positive reviews and 38% negative reviews — a positive balance of 15 points.

The President of the Republic Marcelo Rebelo de Souzawith a positive balance of 10 points, also falls short of the prime minister.

Both Montenegro and Marcelo obtain 53% positive reviews. The advantage of the AD leader arises from the lower percentage of negative evaluations (38%, against 43% for Marcelo).

A The President of the Republic’s popularity is most notable among women and older peoplewhile Montenegro has good acceptance in both genders and greater support among young people.

Despite the overall positive performance, Montenegro faces difficulties in the Lisbon Region, where it records a negative balance of two points. However, it stands out in the North and among voters with higher income, reflecting trends already observed in voting intentions for the AD coalition.

The right is growing, but…

… there is no absolute majority in this poll carried out between December 28th and January 5th.

A Democratic Alliance (AD)made up of PSD and CDS, surpasses the PS in voting intentions, with 32.9% against 26.9%. However, the coalition remains far from achieving a parliamentary majority, even with the support of the Liberal Initiative (5.7%).

A left parliamentary — PS, BE, CDU, Livre and PAN — records around 40% of voting intentions, a value lower than that obtained in the last legislative elections.

12.5% of respondents remain undecided, which could change the scenario.

O He arrivesalthough still with 16.3% of voting intentions, lost ground compared to the latest legislation, with the majority of this loss benefiting AD.

The PS maintains greater support among older people and voters with lower incomes, while the AD leads among young people, voters with higher incomes and residents of the North. Parties such as Chega and the Liberal Initiative continue to attract mainly male and younger voters.
