After agreeing to sign striker Willian José, Bahia gained yet another new face in its squad. Defender Santiago Ramos Mingo, 23, arrived in Salvador on Monday night (13), to undergo medical examinations and sign a contract with the tricolor.
The Argentine was at Defensa y Justicia, and his rights will be purchased by the Bahian club. Bahia does not officially confirm the values, but the operation is worth around 4.5 million dollars (around R$27 million at current prices).
Santiago Ramos Mingo was born in Córdoba, Argentina, and was trained at Boca Juniors. Between 2019 and 2021, he played for Barcelona’s B team. In Europe, the defender also played in Belgian football.
In 2023, Ramos Mingo returned to his country to play for Defensa y Justicia, where he was an absolute starter in the last two seasons. Last year, he played 40 games, scored four goals and provided one assist.
At Bahia, the Argentine will compete for a place with Kanu and Gabriel Xavier. The squad also has Vitor Hugo and David Duarte among the options for the defender.
