Striker Walter, a well-known name in Brazilian football, is in another stage of his fight against the scale. The 35-year-old player participates in the pre-season at Guarany Alagoano, a club for which he does not yet have a signed contract, in order to lose weight and resume his career. At 35 years old, the player said he was following a strict fruit-based diet. The statement was made in an interview with reporter Igor Albuquerque, from TV Gazeta.
“I cut out soda and stuffed biscuits too, which is a huge bomb. It changed my life completely”
“My goal is to lose 100 (kilograms), which is when the good things start, and reach 95, 96, then Walter focuses on reaching 100%. But then my focus is to reach 93, 94, it’s difficult, but nothing is impossible.
Walter last entered the field on September 9 last year, for Rolim de Moura, in the Second Division of Rondônia. Physically ill, he decided to lose weight before trying to return to football.
“I was very sad. In the last team I played for, a lot of videos came out and I told myself that I wouldn’t play again with that weight. I cried in the room, only I know what I went through, and I put it in my head that I I needed to lose weight”
In Bahia, Walter defended the colors of Vitória in 2021, the year in which the team was relegated to the third division of national football. For Leão, there were only four appearances on the field, without being able to score goals or contribute assists. His time in Salvador was not missed.
