Organize studies for Fuvestone of the most competitive entrance exams in the country and which gives access to courses at USP (University of São Paulo)requires strategic planning. It is necessary to understand the priorities, know the fundamental themes and have consistency.
To help with this initial planning, the CNN interviewed João Barreiros, Coordinator of Poliedro, who indicated the ways to build a workforce to join the 2026. Check it out:
Start with the notice
Fuvest is made up of two phases: the first, with objective questions covering all subjects, and the second, with essay questions and . Understanding this dynamic is, for Barreiros, the most important thing. Only afterwards, with understanding of the formatis what the student must .
“It is essential, as a starting point, to know the format and characteristics of the test”, he explains. “Reviewing the notice allows you to understand the organization and structure of the entrance exam.”
And how to structure the calendar?
For an efficient calendar, the teacher recommends three steps:
- Balance the time dedicated to each subject, prioritizing the areas of greatest difficulty;
- Include periodic reviews and weekly simulations;
- Set aside a fixed time to read news and practice writing.
In making these choices, therefore, the student needs to keep in mind what, in general, appears most frequently in the first phase tests. He indicates, based on his experience, the subjects that tend to maintain the same standards year after year at USP. They are:
- Mathematics: functions, trigonometry and plane and spatial geometry;
- Physics and chemistry: kinematics, optics, stoichiometry and organic chemistry;
- Biology: ecology, genetics, botany and human physiology;
- History and geography: Vargas era, Colonial Brazil, current geopolitics, climate issues and Brazilian urbanization.
Phase 2: focus and deepening
Once approved in the first phase of the entrance exam, students will need to solve a different test in a new testing period. At this stage, the The test is entirely discursive and, for this reason, this model of questions must be included in students’ preparation.
“For the second phase of Fuvest, it is pertinent to prioritize the review of the most recurring themes in the disciplines required by the desired career”, he advises.
Some, in the teacher’s view, are more efficient:
- Focus on discursive exercises that simulate the test format;
- Deepen your study of the specific content of your chosen career;
- Improve your writing, seeking clear and well-founded answers.
Valuable Resources
Outside of moments of common study, theory and practice, students need to include moments of solving simulations and other editions of the entrance exam.
“Solving previous tests is essential to understand and assimilate Fuvest’s style, in addition to identifying areas for improvement. This practice should be intensified from the second third of the year”, says Barreiros.
Finally, the coordinator also indicates that the Students need to think about their routines beyond studies. and sleeping regularly are important ways to maintain health throughout the journey.
“Emotional and physical balance cannot be left aside. Light physical activities and leisure time are important for reduce stress.”
