18-year-old tennis player beat the world’s top 10 in his debut in the main draw of the Australian Open

In total, the athlete has already earned around R$1.8 million. The amount adds up to the qualifiers and the first two rounds of the Australian Open. In his first qualifying game, the Brazilian defeated Argentine Federico Agustin Gomez and secured around R$135,000. He then beat Coleman Wong, from Hong Kong, and took R$187,000. Afterwards, he beat Argentine Thiago Tirante, winning R$277,000 and securing himself in the main draw of the Grand Slam. Presence at this stage also came with a bonus: R$504 thousand.
With the victory over Rublev and qualification for the second round, Fonseca secured another R$763,000. This Wednesday (15), the tennis player will face the Italian Lorenzo Sonego, number 55 in the ATP world, in the next phase of the Australian Open. A new victory will earn the young man another R$1.1 million.
