Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, and Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, confirmed their presence at the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump, scheduled for next Monday (20). The information was released by NBC News.
The presence of important figures from the technology industry at Trump’s inauguration ceremony reflects a rapid change in the relationship between these leaders and the president-elect.
During Trump’s first term, both Bezos and Zuckerberg had public confrontations with the president, addressing issues ranging from Bezos’ ownership of the The Washington Post even Zuckerberg’s stance on immigration and misinformation on social media.

As Trump’s second term approaches, the technology industry appears to have softened its criticism.
Several CEOs, including Musk, have praised the president and contributed to the inaugural fund. Musk, for example, was appointed to a position in the new “Department of Government Efficiency”, which aims to identify and eliminate waste in government. He has also been spending time with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
Last week, Zuckerberg said he will work with President-elect Donald Trump to “stop governments around the world from going after American companies and pushing censorship.” The company announced the change in moderation to use the “community notes” system, a model similar to that used by Musk on X.

Additionally, companies like Amazon and Meta contributed $1 million each to Trump’s inaugural fund, while Google also made a similar donation. Other industry leaders such as OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Apple’s Tim Cook also contributed the same amount, although Apple has not officially commented on the donation.
