President of the PCO will have to compensate Kataguiri for Nazism – 01/13/2025 – Panel

The president of the (Workers’ Communist Party), was ordered by the court to pay R$10,000 to the federal deputy (União-SP) for having associated the parliamentarian in a case involving government aid (PT) to the UN refugee agency.

In February 2024, Kataguiri filed a lawsuit to force the Lula (PT) government to interrupt the . In reaction, Pimenta posted a video criticizing Kataguiri. “Then we say that this is Nazism. Guy says: what do you mean Nazism? Yes, that’s what Nazism was: they starved people to death, put them in concentration camps and starved them to death.”

In the action against Pimenta, the deputy stated that the PCO president’s statements “are false and so reprehensible that they could diminish his good reputation among voters.” He also argues that the accusations of genocide, Nazi and clown are capable of offending his honor in society. Pimenta said that they were not offensive expressions.

In the decision, judge Tatiana Dias da Silva Medina, of the Court of Justice of the Federal District and Territories, stated that Pimenta “committed an unlawful act consisting of an abuse of the right to freedom of expression, by exceeding the limits imposed by his economic, social , for good faith and good customs”.
