Sevilla player is arrested for causing yellow cards for people close to him to profit from bets

Sevilla defender Kike Salas was arrested on suspicion of manipulating yellow cards during games as part of a fraudulent betting scheme involving friends and family. The investigation, conducted by a court in Morón de la Frontera and confirmed by police authorities, indicates that the infractions occurred between March and May of the 2023/24 season.

During the period in question, Salas accumulated 10 yellow cards in the Spanish League, seven of those in the last nine matches. The scheme generated profits for people close to the player who placed bets related to the penalties received on the field.
