Young Maria Eduarda de Souza Augusto, 18, died after being run over while walking on the sidewalk in Armação dos Búzios, in the Lakes Region of Rio de Janeiro. The case occurred in the early hours of Sunday (12).
A video obtained by CNN shows the moment when the car climbs onto the sidewalk and runs over the woman, who is thrown away.

The Military Police reported that agents carried out an operation to locate the person responsible for the accident, who fled the scene.
With the help of images from the municipality’s Monitoring Center, the vehicle involved, with a Belo Horizonte (MG) license plate, was seized.
According to the Civil Police, the car will undergo forensic examination. Investigations continue to identify and locate the driver and clarify the circumstances of the collision.
The incident was registered at the 127th DP. On social media, family and friends mourned Maria Eduarda’s death.
