London/Vienna – The British film awards remain good ground for Edward Berger: The Austrian-Swiss director, who won seven trophies at the Baftas in 2023 with his novel adaptation “Nothing New in the West,” is leading the field of nominees again this year. His Vatican thriller “Conclave” has twelve chances to win at the gala on February 16th, closely followed by the narco-transmusical “Emilia Pérez” by Jacques Audiard with eleven entries.
