Former Prime Minister Pedro Passos Coelho will no longer be heard this Wednesday as a witness in the main case of the fall of Banco Espírito Santo and Grupo Espírito Santo, after the hearing was postponed due to the strike by judicial employees.

O The case currently has 18 defendantsincluding the bank’s former president, Ricardo Salgado, aged 80 and diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office estimates that the acts allegedly carried out between 2009 and 2014 by the 18 defendants, former employees of BES and other entities within the GES sphere, caused losses of 11.8 billion euros.
