Legitimacy and legality of the decision to deprive several police officers, including the so-called the Čuril family confirmed themselves again. Minister of the Interior of the Slovak Republic Matúš Šutaj Eštok (Hlas-SD) stated this in response to the decision of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic.
He deals with the appeals of the lawyer Petr Kubina, which relate to the rejection of proposals for the issuance of urgent measures in the matter of the so-called the Čuril family by the regional courts. “On Monday (January 13), the Ministry of the Interior received the first decision of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic, rejecting the appeal,” said the minister.
“In the interest of preserving legal certainty, it is reasonable to assume that the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic will make a unanimous decision and evaluate appeals similarly in other appeal proceedings,” Šutaj Eštok added.
After taking office, the Minister of the Interior temporarily suspended a number of policemen, including the so-called Čurrils. He justified this by suspecting the commission of a crime. Since the police officers had the status of a protected whistleblower, according to the Office for the Protection of Whistleblowers, the minister should have turned to him first.
