Is your phone dying? Turn off these unnecessary features and it will run like soapy lightning

How long has it been since you turned off your phone? If you are among the regular users of this device, you probably don’t even remember that moment. But you’ve run so many functions in that time that it no longer has the power to function.

Are you using an Android phone? Then you must have noticed that with each update comes new little things like smooth transitions, animations and the like. Sure, it looks very nice, but on the other hand, we have to realize that the older the device is, the harder it is to cope with such changes.

Millions and millions of actions (often unnecessarily)

Of course, it’s not that the older mobile phone “doesn’t want to accept new things”, it’s just that it’s not technically ready for such a heavy load. Each redraw of the image during smooth animation requires so many steps and calculations that it overwhelms a significant part of the performance available to the mobile phone. It can so easily happen that it gets so-called stuck and there is nothing left to do but – as computer technology experts like to say – simply turn it off and on again. If you’re lucky, he’ll jump into his normal mode.

How to click through to the right place?

To avoid this, we can sensibly decide that we simply don’t care about other such small improvements and simply turn off the animation with a few simple steps. Let’s get down to it, and if you’re not sure, ask a more experienced technician. The first step will be to open Settings, then About phone and then Phone information.

Software Information should follow, and once you get to the Build Number item, a “magic” will come that we probably wouldn’t expect. You need to tap it seven times in quick succession and if the device asks you for a PIN code, don’t worry about providing it. If everything goes well, you will find yourself in the Pro Developer environment.

Turn off animations

And what next? We are almost there – all that remains is to click on Rendering, then Animation Scale, and here it will be easy: you decide whether you want to turn them off completely, or just halve them, for example. Done. The phone will have much more “power” to work fully again and especially as fast as you were used to some time ago.

Think before you buy a new phone

Modern smartphones are incredibly powerful, but even so, it can happen that over time they begin to slow down, freeze or lag. If your phone isn’t running as fast as before, before you start thinking about buying a new one, try a simple trick – just turn off some unnecessary features that slow down Android.

It’s easier on the iPhone

If you own an iPhone, it will be much easier – in Settings, you need to tap Accessibility, then Motion and finally Restrict Motion. That’s all, it’s as simple as that to arrange. Isn’t that an ideal solution?

Do you have widgets? And do you have to see them?

If even this was not enough, you can remove the so-called widgets and live wallpapers. What are widgets? Quite simply, they’re the little pictures on your phone’s desktop that you use to launch apps. If you have too many and you don’t use most of them, or even have no idea what’s behind them, feel free to remove them from the screen. The phone won’t have to deal with them and will get more time for real work.

Wallpapers don’t have to move

It is the same with dynamic wallpaper, i.e. one that is constantly moving. Replace it with a plain static image and you’ll save precious hundredths of seconds again.

Most apps want to send you notifications. If you are not careful to consistently ban them, not only will they annoy you very often, but this activity will also reduce the meaningful performance of the device. Disable them and you will not only have peace of mind, but also a faster phone.
