State deputy Professora Bebel (), from São Paulo, states that those who oppose financial transfers are against identifying scammers and embezzlers.

The measure determines that credit card operators and digital banks notify transactions that exceed the amount established in the case of individuals (R$5,000 per month) and the amount of R$15,000 per month in the case of legal entities.

These transactions include , including operations between accounts of the same holder.

“How many of us have received a phone call or SMS from a scammer asking for a Pix? If there is screening, there is the possibility of identifying this criminal. So, those who are bothered are against the identification of tax evaders and fraudsters”, says the deputy to the Panel.

The issue became a target for the opposition to the government (PT). The former president () stated on Monday (13) that he was in the National Congress to overturn the measure.

“Day laborers, street vendors, hairdressers, gardeners, bricklayers, taxi drivers, party clowns, helping children/grandchildren, popcorn sellers, etc.,” may be forced to hand over part of their earnings to Income Tax,” Bolsonaro said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Other publications about the measure took to social media by falsely stating that the measure involves some type of taxation on Pix.

This Tuesday, Febraban (Brazilian Federation of Banks) stated that the transfer of values remains the same, free of charge and without changes to the rules for the user.
