Mexican wraps are perfect as a snack for a house party or as a quick, home-made fast foodthat both adults and children will love. Aromatic stuffing with ground beef, tomatoes, red beans and spiceswrapped in a tortilla, delights with its taste and convenience of eating. Thanks to the ability to adjust the spiciness level, you can easily adapt the snack to the taste of all guests – for those who love spicier experiences, add more chili flakes, and for fans of milder versions, you can dip the wraps in thick cream.
Ingredients:
- 2 packages of tortillas,
- 500 g ground beef,
- 400 g canned tomatoes or fresh tomatoes,
- can of red beans,
- onion,
- 2 cloves of garlic,
- a teaspoon of dried oregano,
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground cumin,
- 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander seeds,
- 1/2 teaspoon of chili flakes,
- a teaspoon of ground sweet pepper,
- approx. 100 g of yellow cheese,
- oil.
How to do it:
Fry the minced beef in hot oil, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Fry for about 10 minutes until the color of the meat changes from pink to brownish. Then add the peeled and finely chopped onion and pressed garlic. Fry for another 5 minutes. Add spices: oregano, cumin, coriander, chili flakes and sweet pepper. Mix, then add canned or peeled tomatoes and chopped fresh tomatoes to the pan. Crumble them with a spoon and fry the meat stuffing for about 20 minutes, stirring from time to time. Put the beans from the can into a sieve, rinse with cold water, drain and add to the pan. Finally, season with salt and black pepper and mix thoroughly.
Place a tortilla on a large board, put a portion of the filling, sprinkle with grated yellow cheese and roll up, first folding the sides inwards, and then folding the cake – roll it up in the same way as pancakes for croquettes. To add more exotic flavor, you can add chopped coriander and sprinkle the stuffing with lime juice.
Serve Mexican wraps immediately after preparation. To enhance crispiness, lightly grill the finished wraps before serving.
