The headquarters of the em municipal directory was the target of vandalism. Members of the party discovered the fact this Tuesday morning (14) — the place had been closed since the 21st.
“Unidentified individuals entered the premises and carried out acts of depredation”, according to the police report.
According to the document, the place was empty at the time of the invasion. Three computers and a printer were stolen. Furthermore, doors, filing cabinets and even sinks were destroyed.
Attackers also threw paint on portraits of the president and former president. In an external area, a set of speakers were removed and piled up.
“The level of vandalism is an indication that the idea was not just to steal, but to intimidate”, says Josa Queiroz.
According to the councilor and president of the party’s municipal directory in Diadema, the fresh paint on the walls and the organization of the speakers lead one to believe that the invasion was recent.
Party members had a meeting scheduled to take place this Tuesday, at 10 am, at the headquarters. When they arrived for the event, they were faced with the situation.
The party does not know who may have carried out the attack. “In politics, there are always enemies, but we can’t know who could have done something like this to our headquarters,” said Queiroz.
In a statement, the PT called for “an investigation and strict punishment for those involved”. The party’s bench in the São Paulo Assembly stated that the episode “may indeed be associated with politics”.
