Attacking midfielder Rafael Barbosa resigned by mutual agreement with Farense, from the I Football League, and signed for Polish side Radomiak Radom, the two clubs announced this Wednesday.
“Sporting Clube Farense – Algarve Futebol, SAD announces that it has agreed to terminate the contract with athlete Rafael Barbosa, by mutual agreement. We thank you for all your commitment throughout your time representing our emblem and we wish you the best of luck for your professional and personal future”, said the Algarve emblem, on social media.
Rafael Barbosa arrived at Farense at the beginning of last season, but never managed to establish himself as a starter and, this season, he only played seven games and has not played since the beginning of November 2024.
The 28-year-old player signed a contract until June 2026 with Radomiak Radom, currently 12th in the Polish first division, where he will be coached by compatriot João Henriques.
After Talys and John Velásquez, this was the third exit by mutual agreement in this winter ‘market’ for the Algarve, who so far have only guaranteed the signing of Tomás Ribeiro (ex-Vitória de Guimarães).
After 17 rounds played in the I League, they occupy 17th and penultimate place, with 14 points, playing on Sunday, at 3:30 pm, at Moreirense’s ground for the 18th round.
