São Paulo City Hall erected a wall in the Cracolândia region. In a note to CNNthe Subprefecture of Sé reported this Wednesday (15) that the structure, located on Rua General Couto de Magalhães, was built with the aim of replacing the siding that was in place and promoting the safety of people in vulnerable situations, residents and workers who transit through the neighborhood.
According to the Sé Subprefecture, the replacement took place because the material was constantly damaged.
A CNN asked the sub-prefecture about more details of the work and is awaiting feedback.
In January this year, the average drug addicts that transit through the region is 139 in the morning and 240 in the afternoon. The information is from Monitoring panel for the largest agglomeration of use scenes in the Luz region from SP City Hall.
The bulletin is updated daily and estimates the number of people in the neighborhood using the Jacobs crowd calculation method, which works based on the density of visible gatherings of people.
For example, in denser crowds, it is estimated that each person occupies around 0.2m². In intermediate and light crowds, each person occupies 0.40m² and 1m², respectively.
In a note, the City of SP informed that “the Metropolitan Civil Guard (GCM) operates continuously in Open Use Scenes, carrying out preventive patrols and offering support and protection to public agents in janitorial, health and social assistance services.”
