The Paraná Military Police (PMPR) highlighted the fact that the victims were not residents of Curitiba. With Operation Summer and, consequently, the reinforcement of policing in coastal cities, gangs migrate to other cities in order to escape inspections.
“Due to Operation Summer there is a much larger contingent of police officers on the coast of the state, the saturation ends up causing this crime to migrate. This culminates in several crimes, such as conflicts and trafficking”, commented Lieutenant Taborda, from PMPR.
