“By our actions or inaction, we have opened a modern-day Pandora’s box of problems,” Guterres declared in a speech to the UN General Assembly in which he presented his priorities for 2025.
“Four of these issues come to the fore because, at best, they represent threats that could disrupt all aspects of our lives and, at worst, threaten our very existence. It’s about unrelenting conflicts, huge inequality, a raging climate crisis and uncontrollable technology,” he said.
