More Teachers for Brazil will receive assistance of R$1,050 for graduation and R$2,100 for teachers to teach in distant regions
The president (PT) launched this Tuesday (14 January 2025) the Mais Professores para o Brasil program, with scholarships from R$1,050 to R$2,100. The cost will be R$1.7 billion by 2026 and it is already in the Budget, according to the Minister of Education, .
The initiative will have two modalities, one focusing on undergraduate students, who will receive a nest egg during their degree. The other will be for those who want to teach in remote regions of the country.
In the case of undergraduate students, there will be a monthly bag of R$ 1,050but only those who have good grades in the Enem (National High School Exam) will be able to access the benefit. From this amount, future teachers will be able to withdraw R$700 per month.

- training: the beneficiary will also enter a postgraduate course during the scholarship period;
- when: public call with priority areas and vacancies will be published in February 2025.
According to the MEC (Ministry of Education), around 33% of basic education teaching institutions do not have teachers with the appropriate training for the area they teach. And only 1/3 of those who graduate enter a teaching career.
According to the government, during the period of receiving the scholarship, the benefited teacher will also undertake a postgraduate course focusing on teaching. There would be 2.3 million teachers from public and private networks who could be impacted according to the Planalto.
Extra benefits
The Minister of Education also announced that Banco do Brasil will launch a special credit card for the new program, aimed at teachers, which will have a free annual fee.
In addition, from February 4th, teachers will have 10% discounts on hotel rates across the country, including during periods of major events, weekends and holidays.
The MEC also cited the creation of the PND (National Teaching Test), which will be carried out annually and will function as a type of database for municipal and state networks to more quickly capture the teachers in need. It will be held annually by Inep (National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira). Those interested apply directly to the institute.
The 1st test must be held in November 2025, with the result being announced in January 2025. The total cost of the program until 2026 includes all scholarship costs, plus the investment in 100,000 notebooks for teachers awarded annually.
The winners will be teachers who benefit from the Bolsa Mais Professores or from the networks and schools that won the 2025 MEC da Educação Brasileira Award.
