This Wednesday’s General Balance (15) shows the climate of tension and fear that grips part of western Paraná. The dispute between rural producers and indigenous people on the border between Brazil and Paraguay, in the city of Guaíra, over land ownership, continues to record violent clashes.
The BG returned to the city to find those involved in this conflict, which appears to be far from over. The report found that the invasion of a farm there gained new residents in December, with the erection of new shacks alongside those that already existed in the region.
It was in the same area that there was the most serious conflict to date, at the beginning of the year, when shots were fired at a group of indigenous people. And it was also in this place that the region’s residents were attacked by squatters a year ago.
The issue, which has already been highlighted in the series, shown by BG, continues to worry residents, local authorities and even the Federal Government, which is trying to resolve the situation through Justice.
Dog refuses to abandon owner treated in ambulance
BG also shows a case of unconditional love starring a friendly dog, called Tico. He moved the rescuers who attended to his guardian, a homeless man, who was treated in an emergency situation and needed to be taken to the hospital.
This is because the dog refused to abandon the man, trying at all costs to remain by his side during the treatment. But, as he could not remain in the ambulance, Tico was taken in by a team from the city hall until he could be reunited with his guardian.
Even though he is well looked after, the dog is downcast, suffering from being away. A situation that should change in the next few days, when his owner should finally be discharged and be able to return to living with the dog. It will be another chapter in a story that began about 11 years ago. A faithful friendship that will still yield good times for the inseparable duo.
Consumers revolt after being scammed by car dealership owners
The General Balance Sheet also brings the developments in the case of the vehicle dealer, whose owner has even been arrested, who deceived several consumers.
While trying to recover the lost money, several victims gathered in front of the store, in a protest to attract the attention of the authorities.
They claim that the store owner is responsible for a series of scams, which have been taking place since 2022. After the complaints, the store owner began to be investigated for fraud, extortion and threats. According to the delegate investigating the case, the businessman set up a large pyramid scheme with the store.
