The Government has prepared a tax simplification package with 30 measures that bring some changes that may interest you. There are changes to the IUC, the multipurpose certificate and also for companies.
There are around 30 measures that the Government has designed to facilitate the tax obligations of people and companies. The veil was lifted this Sunday by Luís Marques Mendes, but there is other news put forward by Jornal de Negócios.
What changes for those who have a car
We start with the taxes paid by those who own a car. THE Single Circulation Tax (IUC), the so-called “car stamp” – which is annual, ceases to be paid in the month of registration.
There will now be an extended payment date for everyone, can be paid until December 31st of each year. If the value exceeds €100, the Government may allow the payment in installments.
Changes to the multipurpose certificate
The multipurpose disability certificate, issued by the medical board, is automatically communicated to the Federal Revenue and Social Security.
The user no longer has this obligation, which allows a faster access to tax benefits and social support.
And for companies?
For companies, the issuance of electronic invoices will be made easier and there will be no more paper documents for transport documents. Registration becomes electronic only.
Regarding ICMS, there will be a change in the deadline for requesting installments, No more record books for those who don’t have organized accounting and procedures for accessing refunds will be changed, with requirements clarified.
When the amount to be returned is high, above R$30 thousand, there will be a possibility that the taxpayer provide a guarantee for immediate reimbursement.
There is also another new feature for companies: the annual IRC declaration will already be pre-filled with the deduction of tax losses generated in previous years and carried over to the following years.

The criteria for those who want to waive the ICMS exemption on real estate transactionssuch as the sale or lease of a property.
In addition to this Tax Simplification Agenda, the Government is working on a program to combat fraud and tax evasion, which should be known in the coming months.
