Unlike last year, the 2025 Carnival will be held through a partnership between the State Government and the City of Rio Branco. The information was confirmed to the ContilNet by the acting mayor of the capital, Alysson Bestene, this Wednesday (15). This year, the party will take place on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th of March.

The decision for a single Carnival was made official in a meeting between the acting mayor and governor Gladson Cameli, still on Monday.
“We chose to hold the party in partnership this year. We are just waiting for the arrival of Mayor Tião Bocalom to start the work of the teams. The date is already approaching and, therefore, we need to work as soon as possible to guarantee a beautiful party, with good attractions”, said the acting mayor.

Last year, the City Hall held its party at Praça da Revolution, and the Government held the festivities on Calçadão da Gameleira. For the 2025 edition, Alysson does not rule out hiring a national attraction.

“We understand that it is possible to have an even more beautiful party if we are together. Let’s sit down now and prepare the teams, deal with hiring local attractions and, if possible, some national attraction. But we will have these discussions starting next week, after the mayor arrives”, he stated.
Bestene also said that the initial proposal is to hold this year’s event in Revolution Square, for two main reasons:
“Gameleira is unviable due to the erosion that affects that region. At the Arena, which was a space already used by the Government and City Hall, we had difficulty with the public going there, due to the distance. The center has proven to be the best option so far, but we have to talk about it, to expand the space and define the position of the stage, food court, etc.”, he concluded.
