Coach Fernando Diniz commented on the possibility of midfielder Matheus Pereira leaving Cruzeiro. After Raposa’s draw with São Paulo, 1-1, at Inter&Co Soccer Week, in Orlando, in the United States, the number 10 left his future at the club open.

“I’m happy to be here today, happy to do the pre-season here, a completely different environment to what we did last year. It is also worth highlighting the effort made by Pedrinho, from Mattos, to have this pre-season here. It’s up to me, all of us, as long as we’re here, and we don’t know until when, to dedicate ourselves to Cruzeiro as much as possible”, he concluded.
After Matheus Pereira’s statement, Fernando Diniz was asked if the midfielder will leave. The coach wants the player to remain at the club.
“As for Matheus Pereira, what I can say is that we really want him to stay. It is fully adapted. I have a great relationship with him. He has a very good relationship with the cast. He is a player who has great quality. It has everything to do with what we think about football. In my mind, he will stay to help us this season. It’s what everyone wants and what the club thinks,” said Diniz.
