A firefighter was arrested by Military Police (PM-PR) agents last Monday night (13), after carrying marijuana in a backpack, during a bus trip between Curitiba and Matinhos, on the Paraná Coast.
The military police approached the bus on PR-407, in Pontal do Paraná, and the sniffer dog managed to find the drugs in the firefighter’s backpack.
The suspect, who is a sergeant in the Fire Department, confessed to the military police officers that he was carrying marijuana in his backpack.
According to the Military Police, the firefighter is stationed in Matinhos and was heading to the city’s Fire Department.
In total, the military police found a tablet and a piece containing 602 grams of marijuana.
A sergeant from the Paraná Fire Department was arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking, according to the Military Police (PM-PR). He was on a bus on PR-407, in Pontal do Paraná, on the coast, when he was approached by the police on Monday night (13)
The police team carried out an approach on the vehicle, which left Curitiba heading to Matinhos, on the coast, in front of the corporation station.
Inside the bus, the sniffer dog indicated the presence of drugs in the man’s backpack, according to the PM. He confessed to the police that there were drugs in his backpack.
The firefighter was taken to the Pontal do Paraná Police Station and could be charged with drug trafficking.
In a statement, the Paraná Fire Department stated that “it is monitoring and collaborating with criminal investigations, as well as administrative developments. The institution values the ethical performance of all its employees and does not accept any form of misconduct.”
