Brazil already has 4 deaths, two in Minas Gerais and one in Amapá; number of cases increased compared to 2024
São Paulo registered the 1st death from dengue in the State in 2025. There are another 45 under investigation in São Paulo. In Brazil, Minas Gerais has already accumulated two deaths and Amapá another, totaling 4 deaths. In the national territory, there are 56 under investigation.
The probable cases registered in the first two weeks of the year in São Paulo total 28,402. It represents an increase of 12,111 cases compared to the same period in 2024. The data comes from the Ministry of Health.
There is a difference in the data recorded by the Ministry and the São Paulo government. The shows 34,012 probable cases and no deaths.

The government of São Paulo presented this Thursday (15 January 2025) the Urban Arbovirus Contingency Plan for the 2025-2026 biennium. According to the State Secretary of Health, Eleuses Paiva, the strategy will be to expand the care network for surveillance and control of cases.
“Our objective is to reduce the incidence and mortality caused by diseases and coordinate the state response in an integrated manner between all levels of health care”declared Paiva.
